Blah Beige Bookshelf
I needed a blah little bookshelf for the booth.
Enough room to stack quilts or books or anything odd-shaped.
Found this for half off at the thrift on the way home one afternoon.
Perfect for what I needed.
Sturdy, sturdy little fellow.
Needed a light sanding and some cleaning.
Light spray of Navajo White (Rust-Oleum).
Used up another odd can of paint.
Another light sanding to distress the edges.
Dark oak wax followed by a clear coat of wax to even out the streaks.
Yes, it is a blah beige bookshelf.
But it was needed!
Take a good look at my private little jungle of lantana, ginger lilies, clematis and various other perennials because they will not be around next year.
It's a spider hangout.
And I am NOT going to go through another summer of spider attacks!
See y'all!

Sometimes you just need a little 'blah' in your life...to combat all else that is going on around it. Looks good to me- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI hate to see your plants go. Can you plant them in another part of your yard? If you don't want to do that, can you give them away by putting them at the end of the yard and giving a shout out to Craigslist so people can come out and get them? There is a place on Craigslist that says "free". Can you call on your friends to take them away? I just hate to see them rot and turn to soil if they don't have to. At least with them gone from around the pool, they won't fall in, and you won't get bit. It will be a much more pleasant swim. I wonder why it didn't happen before this. Odd. Take care. Fonda
