Now on to the party!

Chenille Santas

Chenille stem figures, Christmas, Old World Santas
Chenille Santas!

They have style.

They have class.

They have attitude.

I had my own sheet of beheaded Santas, but the file is lost deep in the bowels of my computer.

Luckily for me, Karen at The Graphics Fairy had a sheet of both small and large heads of Old World Santas.

I only needed the small ones, but I have another Christmas craft to use the large ones.

Crafting chenille stem figures has been around for decades.

If you want specific directions, you can go to my Halloween figures here.

Headless!

I make them in several color combinations.

Mainly because I love to play with chenille stems!

There are greenery stems available during this time of year - I made tiny wreaths for them.

I used silver for the loop at the top.

Where the stem is bent, it forms a tiny silver belt buckle.

Some Santas hold silver jingle bells.

Bending the arms and legs creates a unique expression for each.

This one is saying, "You are not taking this wreath from me!"

Must have been a Black Friday kind of thing.

Some carry little silver scepters - see over to the right?

Santa is jumping with joy - he is one of the lucky ones who get to carry the tiny bottle brush trees.

Folks, it is Sunday - of course there are bottle brush trees!

Group photo - necessary at all holiday events.

How many did I make?

I lost count after 100.

Chucks caught me talking to them.

He said there was something seriously wrong with me.

Hey, THEY listen!

Remember to return tonight - Sunday at 7PM for another Make It Monday.  I chose the features from last week so they will show up on my blog.  Tamara (Etcetorize) and I love to see what you bring over!

See y'all!

Square In A Gray Suit

Painted table in Americana Decor Relic
A sharply dressed square table in a tailored gray suit.

What a handsome guy!

He started out butt-ugly.

No kind words for him.

Someone had attempted a makeover but quit on him.

I rather liked his classic lines.

He did have a pronounced limping gait to him.

Fixed quickly with a bit of wood glue and some clamps.

A quick sanding - most of that had been done.

A thorough cleaning.

He had a slight smell.

I have a new favorite color - Americana Decor Chalky Paint in Relic.

(No money was given out for this project.  I would appreciate another jar of this - Hobby Lobby is out!)

He had round knobs, but I had these square ones which were perfect.

Notice I added MinWax Mission Oak over the gray to make it a richer color.

My new tags with distressed donna on them.

Tuesday is the big moving day.

Please send me some sanity.

My square table in a gray suit is currently hiding out in my old booths.  I wanted him to be front and center for the new booth's opening.

He is such a handsome fellow!

See y'all!

Friday Finds

Thrift stores, vintage, Christmas, vintage plush Santa

Hey!  It is the day after Thanksgiving and all through the house there is a great hustle and bustle for Christmas is coming.

With huge market baskets ready for shopping.

I wonder what Donna will drag home today?

A whole group of gold glitter baskets and a giant bag of bells - just too much to deal with now.

Sweet Christmas angels with slightly smudged faces.

And a giant linen tablecloth!

I am past getting worried - this is the dining room/craft creation/gift wrapping station.  Oh, my!

Typesetting letters - N, J, W (Not Jolly Wilkes?) and a #13 race car - perfect for stuffing a stocking or two.

Help! I am being held hostage in a hoarder house!

Tell the truth - how many of you went back and forth trying to find the rhyme or reason to this post?

Well, there isn't any except it is late Tuesday night and I am writing it ahead of time because I will be busy moving my junk, er, merchandise at Riverfront Antique Mall.

Come make me a deal!

See y'all!

PS  I am having so much fun with the vintage Santa, I am not selling him!
