Quickies - Little Boy Blue Ladder

Little Boy Blue come blow your horn.

I just wish this bad little boy would run back to my booth - he has been missing for over a week.

He is prancing around somewhere in the building.

I was outside painting the blue dresser and decided the ladder would be the perfect companion piece.

And a quick project.

I taped over the distressed galvanized bits and covered him with Rain Storm.

I had some books on him next to the dresser.

Keeping my fingers crossed he has returned or has been re-homed.

Oh, gosh, I hope he has not been kidnapped!

Quickies - A Rack and A Trellis

Remember the redwood-stained trellis from Friday Finds?

(Read here.)

I painted it with a light spray of Heirloom White.

It has a slight pink look.

I would use it inside on a wall.

Olive suggested tiny white lights on it.

I drove it right to the booth as soon as it was dry.

A small pine plate rack.

Sprayed with Rust-Oleum Aqua.

I am enjoying my empty breakfast room as a photo back drop.

So did I keep this?

No way, Jose!

It rode shotgun with the trellis.

The trellis is in Booth W-10 and the plate rack is in Booth C-23.

Better hurry.

There are crowds of tourists in town for the horse events and the Masters Golf Tournament.

And they are shopping!

Citron Vanity

I named this vanity Citron because of the color and because I could swear there was  1960's song of that name by Donovan.

My neighbor agreed.

Evidently we are both either crazy or sixties senility has set in.

Missing her mirror made her a bargain.

I tossed the supports in the trash.

Later wishing I hadn't.

I had two vanity mirrors under the living room sofa.

Don't judge - it's where I keep mirrors safe from our horde of animals.

Had to do a little repair work to the drawers before sanding and cleaning.

Love her shape and style.

Citron was planned to be a gaudy gal with bright colors.

So her drawers were painted with an oops paint in happy blue.

(Not it's real name.)

I always start with a piece upside down.

Citron throwing her legs in the air like she just ...

At this point I planned to leave her distressed with just one light coat of paint.

Gaudy Gal was gone.

Then I found something.

Everything got a full second coat of citron paint.

Yes, Citron deserves something special.

Like these sweet distressed pink cast iron knobs. 

Expensive?

YES!

Actually more expensive than the vanity.

BUT wait a week and Hobby Lobby puts them on sale for half price.

Don't know why, but the knobs look like angel heads with angel wings to me.

How lovely is Miss Citron!?!

Yes, that's my pink mosaic pumpkin.

Best $8 I've spent in a long time.

Chucks So Blue

Chucks is so blue and talented too!

He took a fancy to this 1960's era dresser to slip into a corner of the bedroom.

I sanded it down and removed the feminine pulls.

Found a blue Chucks liked. 

Rainstorm by Sherwin Williams.

I gave him plenty of choices - all of them dark blue.

Can't let him too far off the reservation.

I did not have to supervise.

Chucks  is quite good at painting furniture.

He just refuses to do it.

Chucks selected these manly brass pulls from Horror Monster for his dresser.

Sort of looks naval.

My pink mosaic pumpkin looks quite snazzy on the dresser.

Lucky for us, Chucks chose a small dresser.

We now have to drag it up our crazy stairs.

One day I will take a picture of them.

(Confession:  I am about to split my pants to paint a red stripe on that dresser!)

Beach Signs

Yes, even more signs.

Signs for beach memories or a beach house.








 

Using up a random pile of wood.

Using up small jars of OOPS paint.

(I will have to remember to have this one replenished!)

A delightful silvery sage green.

Not your ordinary beach scene color.

Painted an abstract of sky, surf, and sand.

Added umbrellas leaning with the wind.

Each board was a different size.

Each beach scene is unique.

Used beachy stencils from Homestead.
