Six-Legged And Distressed About It

distressed painting, Valspar Bermuda Sand, table
Yep, this little table was six-legged and quite distressed about it.

I knew the cure depended on two sunny days with warm temps.

Got'em both last week.

The table is an interesting shape and perfect beside a chair with a lamp.

The finish was toast.

Every time I dusted (and that is not often!) part of the finish flaked off.

So I guess you could say the table was six-legged, distressed and a bit flaky.

Sanded all over.

Revealed a slight problem with the veneer on the top.

Easily fixed with wood glue and a clamp.

And extra time for this to dry.

Ready to paint!

Valspar Bermuda Sand.

Sanded with a hand sander.

I know.

I took a distressed table, painted it, and distressed it again.

And it is still six-legged.

But not flaky!

There is a creamy pinkish undertone in this paint.

A clear coat of Minwax paste.

What!?!

No transfer?

No, not this time.

It can be found at Booth W-10, Riverfront Antique Mall in North Augusta, South Carolina.

See y'all!

  1. I love the six legs. It's so unique. Nice job. I think you're wise not to go overboard and put a transfer on everything. A little variety makes a space worth looking through. Happy day!
