Friday Finds

vintage finds, primitive stands, vintage toolboxesWillie is peeking out the window to see what I dragged home this week.

Not all of today's finds were bought  - some I snatched away from Horror Monster's outdoor living section.

Okay, I did buy this group of primitive plant stands from another dealer who had been using them as shelves hanging in her booth.

I think they will be the perfect solution for covering the black hole of the fireplace for the summer.

I will let you know if it works.

Found these two birdcages.

I dumped all the perches and toys to clean them.

Off to the booth where I hope they will grace a garden.

I will admit to a certain softness in my heart for Italian tole metal flowers - these attached to a wrought iron candle holder.

Needs a little work.

Two more heavy duty wrought iron candle pieces.

I suspect they came from the same house as the tole one.

This just screams Americana!

The splatter ware crock, the red/white tin lithograph pedestal bowl, the tiny wire-baled canning jars.

Who could pass up turquoise pom poms?

Two nice storage jars.

I found just under two yards of this printed linen.

Hoping it will be enough for a chair I have.

I usually stick to green, white or black shutters, but wooden shutters are getting too hard to find to be picky about color.

From Horror Monster comes this group of yawning toolboxes and two plastic Coke crates.

After lining them up for a group photo, I was a bit sad to be getting rid of part of my toolbox collection, but I have thirty a few more.

Some of these are really tackle boxes.

All went off to the booth.

Buy them quickly so I will not bring them back home!

The rusty saw blades once hung on my back fence with pots of annuals wired to them.

A little sanding and a bit of washing ...

A torn cotton ribbon just because ...

And they were off to the booth.

The pink plaid is destined for a bench.

Love the large brass rose bowl though it needs extensive cleaning.

I am off to clean more junk, er, treasures from Horror Monster's outdoor living section.

I need to finish a few paint projects.

It is a never-ending list.

See y'all!

  1. Lots of awesomeness this week! My favorite s this week are the turquoise pom pom fringe and the red and white pedestal bowl. It's very unique! The plant stands will look great in front of the fireplace. Are you going to cut them to different heights? That linen fabric is so pretty and will look great on a chair. Happy Friday!

  2. Wherever it is that you get your boundless energy, I need you to point me in that direction!

Those saw blades are really cool. I bet they go quick and hopefully from a paying customer and not back into your car :-)

  11. Where do I sign up to visit Horror Monster? With a big truck? While your back is turned for, say, a couple of hours? What a trove you have. Those tool/tackle boxes won't hang around long. I cannot keep them in stock.

  17. Some really interesting finds. Anxious to see how you use the plant stands to cover up the black hole in your fireplace. Also love the splatter ware crock and the red/white tin pedestal bowl. You did good, even if you had to take some stuff from the Horror Monster.

  26. Lots of great finds -- but my favorites are the bird cages and the tool boxes. Years ago I had my mom's big old bird cage and stand and even had birds in it for awhile. Sadly -- I think I tossed it to the curb on one of our many moves -- a huge regret!
