Friday Finds

A hunt through Horror Monster, my beloved craft stash, netted a truckload of treasures to take to the booth.

Most of my colander collection is now gone.

Downsized my funnel collection. 

No one really needs thirty funnels, do they?

A few had the star spout.

I found many small bottles and jars displayed throughout the house.

Selected a box of ones no longer desired.

SPOOLS!

Man-oh-man, did I ever have spools.

Found this basket of spools in my bins of fall decor.

No wonder I never used them.

Did not have a clue where they were.

Three bottles of ordinary tiny spools.

All this was moved two months ago or maybe longer to the side yard from the front porch.





Waiting for me to make a decision about my tool and tackle box collection.

Decided to send away ten of them.

Let it go!

Springs - been around for years anticipating a fantastic craft project using them.

I left a clue in the middle back.

Let it go!

Finally there was silverware and silverware and silverware and ... 




Bundled like with like and sent them off to the booth.

Let it go!


So Horror Monster has started slimming down.

I am beginning to like empty spaces.


I may have to go hunt down some furniture for the booth, but I have crossed most smalls off my list for now.

There are more treasures to be found right here in my house.

(Am I already missing my funnels?  YIKES!)

Did you guess right? The springs are from old hair curlers.

Going, Going, Gone!

Another Saturday night at the auction.

Antique Uniques Auction  (FB page HERE) is fast, fun and friendly.


 
In order to get my hands on the blue felt Scottie with the 1939 calendar from Dominica, the vintage milk caps, and the sweater clip ...

I had to buy these.

Don't you love the tiny metal sculpture of the man on the toilet?

Large red doll trunk.

Brown porcelain door knob/lock set.

Dog nutcracker. 

(Our dogs crack their own nuts - they are especially fond of the pecans and hickory nuts in the backyard - yes, I know they are NOT supposed to eat nuts.) 

A silverplate ice bucket - I named it Beth for a friend who likes ice buckets.

Guess what?  She came in Tuesday and bought it!

In order to get my hands on the crate, I had to buy all the bottles.

Not a bad deal - they are mostly from bottling plants decades gone.

Casters!!!

Lots of casters!!! 

Remember last auction I bought porcelain and iron casters? (READ HERE)

Well, I bought more.

More casters!!!

The ones pointing left are wood and metal.

The ones pointing right are all metal.

Ridiculous you say?

NO, just MORE casters!!!

Odd assortment of different types.




I had to buy the whole tin to get my hands on the giant one.

(I would have bought them all anyway.)

The auctioneer looked at me and said, "She wants them if nobody else does."

Casters - these from a mechanic's creeper.

Never thought about collecting these.

Look at the rusty beauties.

A Pepsi crate - made in February, 1972.

Yes, most crates are dated.

I do love the jars!

Another Pepsi crate.

This one is in rough shape and needs a thorough cleaning. I hope to find the date legible.

I had to buy the vintage enamelware urinal to get my hands on the Olympic Thermos picnic jug.



The jug is so clean, I could fill it with ice water and use it right away. 

The urinal - not so much.

A Navy duffel bag.

A child's spade.

A large shovel head - the handle is toast.

My two favorite finds.

A large galvanized funnel with a red stripe.

A large grain bin drawer.

Y'all do a great job entertaining us on a Saturday night.

Friday Finds

I am still shopping in the deep innards of Horror Monster, my beloved stash.

 


Currently cleaning out blanket chests and trunks.

Packed all this away one Christmas and never unpacked it.

Off to the booth.

Yes, whole collections are leaving for new homes.

Like my miniature mannequin collection.

This large, lovely piece of pottery was a gift complete with a dried flower arrangement.

Going away.

I'll share more Horror Monster finds later, but I did do a tiny bit of shopping.

At the thrift store I found a bag of 32 pulls - some with their screws.

Also the large handle.

A black box currently in the stages of a makeover.

Could not resist these large glass jars from Decor Steals last week.

 
Did not have any idea how huge they were!

Notice my dining room table is still free of clutter.

In fact I may have to dust it!

Odds Bottles and Jars

Sometimes I get bogged down by the vast number of smalls residing in Horror Monster, my beloved craft stash.




Time to dig out those bottles and jars I have been storing.

I gather buttons, lace, trim, Frozen Charlottes, and other interesting bits and bobs.

Spice bottles with cork tops are great for assortments.

I always try to find the ones already cleaned of all labels.

I'm just lazy that way!

These labels are from Valerie at Linen Chic.


I left the middle blank for someone to write a name or a sentiment.

Her labels are always great.

Her eBay store is closed while she is away, but you can visit later HERE.

I filled these with buttons.

The cork was secured to the bottle with a bit of double-sided tape.

 To use or to display.

A very large jar = more stuff leaving the house!

Ruffled tulle around the lip.

"ODDS" on the lid.

Crammed with all sorts of goodies.
