Linda's Downsizing, My Downfall

Linda from A La Carte sends me these tantalizing emails filled with photos of items she is downsizing.

With great prices!

We plan a fun place to meet to have a wonderful lunch and some vintage shopping.

We chose Madison, Georgia for our last Fun Day.

Some I kept and some things I have in my booth.

The plant tables I used until all my summer pots of plants dried up. Then off to to another person to use.

The bookshelf was not part of the stash but used to display all the goodies.

Lovely pottery shoes and a Roseville dog dish among other things.

Some of you may remember when insurance policies were  fancy certificates presented to you in metal boxes like this one.

A box of china balls with numbers and letters. 

These look great in glass-top canning jars with metal bales.




More pottery - aqua apple dishes, and fiesta tea cups, a set of rooster creamers.

A bread basket.

A close up of the adorable donkey figurines.






 

Look at the shape of the juice pitcher complete with the six glasses.

Old patterns are good sellers in the booth.

I had the front pattern when I used to sew and made several dresses.

Salt cellars and a martini pitcher.

More creamers.

I had to keep a couple of these.

The darling tweed case was mine from the start.

Planned to paint the rolling pins but someone put dibs on them.

Fruit squeezer is a nice heavy duty one.

Linda knows I have a huge soft spot for baby shoes.

Used these in a large glass vase until they left for another home.




 

1950's bar set.

Plan to paint the cutting board.

Royal Copley pottery bird bowls.

One pink and one blue.

No one seems to want these.

I think it is neat there is a pair of them.

Maybe they will become a Christmas present. 

The green glassware looks rather fetching in the booth with orange pumpkins.

Two tea pots.

Especially love the tomato red Universal one. 

Milk glass goblets will be filled with small bottle brush trees.

A set of yellow Luray serving pieces - two platters and a bowl.

And last but not least, a whole set of Poppytrail California Strawberry.

There is only one saucer missing. 

In excellent condition.

No scratches - no stains.

Bowls for cereal, serving, soups, etc.

Serving dishes. 

Tea pot with creamer and sugar.

Dinner plates, cups and saucers.

Covered tureen.

Gravy boat.

I have this displayed in my booth with groups marked separately with the option to buy the entire set.

Many lookers but no offers yet.

Linda and I unloaded her SUV and loaded my SUV with all the items.

We did such a great job, I still had space to buy more!

Friday Finds

A small load this week because I was searching for quick turn-arounds.

First this cabinet - nice shape and plenty of storage.

Decided on white. 

Sanded it and found parts are mahogany.

If you paint furniture, you know the dead end here.

I shoved it back in the truck for another day.

An old leatherette file box in olive green.

Extra large.

Teaching materials from Robins Airforce Base In Georgia.

It is empty though.

Loved the shape, color, design and weight of this piece of pottery.

It's a keeper.

Two Brown Bag cookie molds - I have a small collection.

I am thinking of listing several on Etsy.

I used mine for paper instead of cookie dough.

Four Garfield glass mugs - McDonald's premiums.

Another horse trophy - this one from the Diamond B Ranch.

Large plaid sewing box.

Filled with various notions.

A lovely easel and a poster of Miss Muffet.

This is the table from yesterday.

It must be some kind of jinx for photography.

Not one photo staged on it was decent.





Christmas tins and a brass cricket box.

And the bottom of a brass candle holder.

Like to find advertising tins.

This one a recipe box.

Filled with printed Gold Medal recipes, blank cards, and stuffed in the back - some one's handwritten recipes and paper clippings. 

I will scan the handwritten ones before selling the tin.

Wall art - old telephone and a London bus.

A bag of tiny tart tins or molds. 

The round ones about an inch wide.

A new old stock Wedding Memories album.

What looks to be tear drops on the outside of the box.

The Patisserie table seemed to like this find as much as I did.

The photos turned out great.

A covered soup bowl.

Old ironstone with purplish flowers.

Marked Diana and L & E M. 

Do you know how many china patterns are some form of "Diana"!?!

After the tenth page, I gave up.

I am keeping it for awhile.

Friday Finds

Willie is so confused.

All the vintage and antique items are going OUT the door and none are coming IN the door.

There are no piles of junk to sniff.

There are no new paths to wind his way across the living room.

Willie hides his toys under the dining room table so they do not disappear.

Yes, another week of shopping my house!



 
This is my current obsession.

It is my original craft closet.

Once tidy and organized.

It is the birthplace of Horror Monster who has grown by leaps and bounds. 

The right side is almost cleared.

This is what I found.

Tons of old hangers.

My hotel advertising hangers.

I selected one or two to keep.

The rest have gone.

There was a stack of small metal buckets.

They will be repurposed.

I once loved this drawer front because there was only one handle.

I turned it into a hanging rack for kitchen towels with a spoon hook at the bottom.

Back in the eighties!  Way before Pinterest or blogs.

Yes, we did projects in the stone ages.

Gone!

If you have wondered where have all the office baskets have gone, they have been shoved into this closet.

Eighteen of them and counting - I cannot see the floor yet.

All but four at the store.

Chucks had to have four of them.

I gave him an ultimatum.

If they are not in use by Monday, they are gone.

A tiny portion of my shoe stretcher collection.

I kept one pair.

The rest are at the store, but I have not tagged them yet.

There was one refrigerator basket with close to 300 macrame' beads.

I once was the Macrame' Queen, but never again.


The beads will definitely go, but the wire basket may be kept.

They are too useful.

The New Booth Update

I did hang some burlap to frame the entrance.

I hung crib springs on either side of the door.

I have a collection of frames hanging about.

The hydrangea dresser took the place of the gray dresser that sold.

The vintage ironing board holds a basket of hangers and a suitcase filled with vintage crochet thread.

I dumped boxes of leftover fabric and made quilt bundles.

A collection of restaurant china displayed on the Morning Sky cabinet.

Well, actually at the present time it is stolen because he did not send me the bill yet.

Perfect for a collection of bottles, trophies, and wall pockets.

And that's it!

I am managing somehow to keep the C-23 booth sparse.

BUT if you just have to plunder, visit my Booth W-10.

It is packed full with goodies and I added a few treasures at fantastic prices.

You just have to find them.

Well, I am off this weekend to North Carolina to visit my niece who is a counselor at a camp.

She has planned two days of fun, thrifting, eating, and book-buying.

I am taking a brief vacation from my NO JUNK BUYING rule.

There may be an explosion of junk coming your way next week.
