Quickies - Cheeky Cherubs

quick makeovers, cherubs, metal planters
Since it's Sunday, my cheeky cherub would like to show off.

Found three small metal planters - heavy duty and quite distressed.

Scrubbed.

 Stamped.

Tagged.

Cheeky cherub.

I think I love you!

Quickies - Fluff And Four Years

lavender bundles, music rolls, fluff, blog birthday
Good Sunday morning!

More fluff for this Quickies post.

I have scoured through your blogs to find how you set up for shows.

One thing stood out.

FLUFF!

Small inexpensive items that seemed to make your big items stand out.

Previously I painted pine cones to match some of my primitives.

This past week I went a bit crazy with fluff.

BUT I am not distressed about it at all!

Purchased lavender stems at half price at Hobby Lobby.

I save my real lavender stems for ME!

Hate to be a hog, but ...

I do love lavender.

Gathered some white tissue, lace bits, and twine.

Twelve bundles.

Nearer to the Gathering, I will drop some lavender oil on each bundle.

My cherub head wished to be in numerous pics.

I do tend to spoil him.

I bought a notebook of sheet music from a teacher's estate.

I have used copies of it for several project pieces and now it is time to turn it loose.

There was enough for eight stacks.

Dug out a roll of overdyed torn cotton ribbon from Horror Monster's Stash.

Gently rolled each stack into thirds and tied a ribbon on each.

Group photo.

Today is my blog's fourth anniversary.

It is so hard to believe I have been doing this for four straight years.

Some of the bloggers who started around the same time as I are still hanging on.

Others have taken different paths.

I cherish my time in Bloglandia interacting with bloggers who quickly become friends.

I love to find new bloggers starting out.

Y'all will just have to put up with me some more because I plan to stick around for awhile.

Thank you for being my friends!

Fluff will be available at Magnolia Ridge.

See y'all!

Quickies

quick project, making photo tags, Magnolia Ridge Antique and Art GatheringThis is a great project when you are binge watching TV shows.

I sorted through the snapshots I bought in January to pick ones I especially liked.

Scanned them into my computer.

Printed them out nine to a page.

Even if the photos are different sizes, this step will make them all the same size.

Selected odd trims and laces from my stash to attach to the bottoms after cutting each photo out with craft scissors.

Since the photos have a sepia hue, I wanted to cover the punched holes with a brown kraft paper reinforcement.

However I was out of those.

So I took several sheets of the white ones outside and spritzed them with walnut ink.

Left them in the sun to dry.

Yes, they are still sticky after dying.

I do like the look, but I have ordered more brown kraft paper ones for next time.
Sometimes I can be lazy.

Used seam binding, ribbon, rick rack, and twine to make ties for each tag.

Oh, I forgot to tell you this project is about making tags.

Yes, little photo tags to attach to kraft paper shopping bags.

I have completed several dozen bags in two sizes.

WHY?

I have been invited to participate in the annual Magnolia Ridge Antiques & Art Gathering on May 21 in Ridge Spring, South Carolina.

Yes, my junk will be traveling!

If you are within 150 miles, it is worth the trip.

See y'all!

My Etsy shop is on vacation so I can clean up a bit and clear out items lingering too long.

Sassy Miss Chris

dress form decorated, Christmas, anitique booth, Riverfront Antique Mall
I have been a bad blogger - not showing off my Christmas stuff.

These pics are from the first of December of my Booth W-10 at Riverfront Antique Mall in North Augusta, South Carolina.  (For those of you who asked where is the booth!)

I was inspired by the mannequin trees - especially Rita's at  Panoply.

Rita's tutorial HERE.

So I made a poor woman's copy of it.

Took the top of my dressmaker's form.

Wove garland through the wire at the bottom.

Let her wear my favorite Christmas tee.

Made her a garland scarf.

Placed her high on top of Katherine, my primitive cabinet.

(Now for sale! The cabinet, not Sassy Miss Chris.)

I bleached close to 300 trees this year and about half have sold.

I keep them out all year for other seasons.

Little vignettes of Christmas tucked in and out the booth.

Yet another pic of Sassy Miss Chris.

I promise it is the last one.

More trees and Christmas-y stuff.

And the gnome for under the tree has not sold!

I sorta feel sorry for him.

He really needs to be sitting under a tree somewhere.

Is that a giant carrot or is he just showing off?!?

Could not resist a smutty gnome joke.

See y'all!
