I had just a few dollars left in my pocket when I started for home.

Then I met Eddie on the side of the road.

I wanted the white metal shelf, the chisel store display, and the brown suitcase.

I told him I did not have much money.

He named a price.

He must have ESP - it was exactly what was in my pocket!

Thanks, Eddie!

There is so much going on this weekend, I am not sure which direction to go.

Just point me towards the rusty, crusty stuff.

See y'all!

Friday Finds

vintage finds, vintage furniture.
Three truckloads before noon last Saturday.

I had to go home to dump the treasures before heading back out.

I will not bore you with all - just some.

A boxful of baby shoes - well-loved.

Buttons, buttons, buttons followed by spools, spools, spools.

Printer's tray.

About ten floral frogs in different sizes.

A weaving loom from the 60's.

A pair of heavy duty end tables with barley twist legs.

The tops are ugly - water damage.

A very large tub I plan to use as a planter.

A MCM* dresser which is now in the middle of a major makeover.

I love the chair frame just as it sits.

Naked beauty.

The small Corsican-style table with beautiful spooled legs and ...

... beautiful burled top.

Unfortunately there is damage to the finish on the legs.

I am only touching the legs - NOT the top.

I have a whole post to write about this primitive beauty.

Handsawn wood.

Handmade with a lot of love.

It was getting late and it was SUNNY  so the pictures go downhill from here.

The Sirocco framed young girl.

There's a small bench behind her.

A cherub

A shelf unit.

And a mirror.

I know, I know - you cannot see them!

A lovely group of white shutters.

A wire blue plant stand.

An ornate gold frame.

Look, Farragoz fellow students, a whole jar of homemade gesso.

Not like ours, but similar.

I found it at the bottom of a box.  It is a wonder it did not break and ruin everything.  I got it free because no one at the estate sale knew what gesso was.

In the DON'T TELL CHUCKS section of this week's Friday Finds:

I went to Tractor Supply for a bag of dog food, but who can get out of that place without buying more?

I can't.

On the sale rack was this toolbox planter and the galvanized holder.

Yes, I know I am culling the herd of my vintage toolboxes, but this is perfect for my new porch look.

I also picked up two crib mattresses.

A quick tutorial:
1. Grab mattress.
2. Strip the mattress of all padding.
3. Use springs for displays!

Friday Finds

suitcase, vintage finds, thrift shop, estate sales
It was the week for rusty, crusty, dusty stuff.

A few cobwebs, too!

Last Monday our niece Leia came to spend the day.

I was in the fog of Extra-Strength Tylenol.

No, I did not drive.

Somewhere along the way I left behind a bag with vintage Ideal magazines and other items.  I have no recollection, but I am sure they were fabulous.

I was so excited to find this brown toile tablecloth because of the number of different animals in the pattern.

Horses, goats, cows, dogs, peacocks, deer - just to name a few.

Steampunk chic.

Love the sculptural quality of this old piece of organ.

I will list this on Etsy as soon as I get it clean.

Found another brown suitcase - this one extra large.

Could not resist this $1 jeans jacket covered with hundreds of vintage buttons - front and back.

It weighs about seven pounds.

Fits perfectly.

And STINKS to high heaven.

I will have to soak it for days and dry it out in the sun.

The old coffin carrier is filled with a stack of frosted windows.

Another cleaning project. <sigh>

That's not distressing you see - it is mold!

A heart-shaped basket holding a darling paper mache piggy bank

A silver picture holder.

Another colander - I thought it was graniteware, but it is just dirt.

An unusual mold.

Sell or keep?

A stack of numbered drawers.

heart

heart

Vintage round wall basket in delicious white and blue paint.

A rusty grater and eggbeater.

A floral frog covered in (?).

Six heart molds.

I am sure the tea tin is pretty under the crud.

Love its shape and the lift top lid.

Not too often can you find a smoking baby.

See the tiny hole in his mouth?

He may be for string.

A roll of tiny jute fits in the back.

Chalkware.

If you find a purple Publix bag packed  with some treasures, let me know.

I am missing whatever is in it.

See y'all!

UPDATE:  MY PURPLE BAG WAS SAVED AND HIDDEN UNDER THE COUNTER AT THE THRIFT STORE!

NOTE:  I updated my coupon code for my Etsy shop.  I was embarrassed to find out my coupons had expired.  There are new listings for you to browse.  Enjoy!
