A Review of Artistic Endeavors 101

Swap & Tell, review of Etsy shop, bamgles, clay disks
On Tuesday of this week I arrive home to find this intriguing package in the mail.

It was from Brooke of Artistic Endeavors 101.

We had met on Swap & Tell and made a swap.

I sent her a jar filled with lace, buttons, and a Frozen Charlotte.

She sent me this!

The packaging alone made me gasp.

All the wrapping are distressed with layers of mixed media adornments.

And tags!

The swap was for the rose bangles she creates from torn cotton sheets.

They arrived in my colors in a cotton bag.

The trouble with most bangles are my freakishly tiny wrists.

I have lost several bangles.

Brooke sent me the small bangles and they fit perfectly.

No, I will not wear six at a time, but three look quite nice.

I just had to show them off.

A sweet thank you tag.

Her Etsy shop tag is a work of art.

Embossed, Brooke's business card sewn on, and added buttons with other tiny details.

WOW!

Great impression.

Here is the back so you can see the embossing and distressing.

Brooke included a surprise in with the bangles.

First you have to admire the way this is presented.

I have carefully saved the wrapping.

Inside were the polymer clay disks Brooke makes.

I had commented how much I liked these.

Aren't they lovely?

I have several ideas in mind for using these.

I am now to rate Brooke's Etsy shop.

I would have to say the presentation sent her ratings soaring to whatever is beyond excellent.

Her attention to small details is very creative.

The shipping was fast and the items were well-packaged.

Will I be tempted to buy from Brooke?

You better believe it!

She has two Etsy shops:

Artistic Endeavors 101 for both supplies and finished products.

AND

Artistic Elite for lovely jewelry.

Be sure to check out her blog too!

Brooke's review of my jar can be found HERE.

See y'all!

Gigi's Angel Wing

Old World Patina, swap, angel wing
At a previous Swap & Tell party I was lucky enough to find Gigi from Old World Patina with an angel wing she wished to swap.

I sent her a bobbin of French gimp.

She sent me a tiny piece of heaven.

Gigi and I met long ago over a passion for the type of patina you find in old world buildings in far off places.

Those with layers and layers of paint and plaster built through the centuries.

Gigi has perfected the art of creating this kind of patina on many items.

The plaster angel wing is just one of those.

I was so excited when the package arrived.

I have taken the wing all over the house.

This is my corps of wingless angels.

It may reside here.

It catches the light from the front window.

The angel wing looks quite lovely with lace and a chippy white fence paling.

It rested here for several days.

The angel wing has found a spot with a group of rosaries.

How fitting.

My little piece of heaven.

You must go over and see Gigi's art pieces for yourself.  She also sells them in her Etsy shop found at Old World Patina.

The other angel wing is available here with its sweet verse attached.

"We are each of us angels with only one wing, and we can only fly by embracing one another"

Some of her present projects include:

Applying patina to bottles

Trinket boxes

(Available in her Etsy shop)

This is the beautiful patina Gigi achieves on her pieces.

My review rates Gigi and her shop as excellent.  The angel wing is plaster and was wrapped with care to ensure it arrived safely.  The package was shipped promptly.  The prices are very reasonable for the beautiful items she creates.

Gigi also has a Saturday's Studio Glimpse link party to show your work space and the projects you are working on.  It is fun to see the unfinished parts of projects.

Swap & Tell #4

Link party for sellers
Up for a swap tonight
Welcome back the the fourth
Swap & Tell.
We have received positive feedback on this concept and hope sellers will stop in to swap.

I posted my review (READ HERE) of my swap with Diana from Adirondack Girl @ Heart.

I received a lovely English toffee tin with oversized tags inside.

It looks great with my tin collection.

You can find vintage goodies at her Etsy shop  Adirondack Girl @ Heart here.

My co-hosts are Ann at Tarnished Royalty and Heather at Woods of Bell Trees. Your link will show on all three blogs simultaneously.

I'm so ready to get to the swap, but first, please read the rules:

*This link up is a SWAP so please ONLY link up posts that contain a picture of an item you would like to swap and have fun shopping around! Links that are not for swap will be removed to preserve the authenticity of the link up.

*Link up a post from your blog, Etsy, Facebook, Pinterest or Instagram that contains a picture and description of your swap item, using a permalink to your specific post not your general URL from your chosen source.

*Look around at the other links until you spy something that interests you. Visit as many as you like and when you find something you'd like to swap for, leave the other person a comment with a link to your posted item.

*Once you have committed to a swap, please edit your post with a note that your item is already swapped so you won't continue to get offers.

*Exchange address info with your swap partner. Each person will pay shipping for the item she/he is sending.

*Please be prepared to ship your product no later than one week from the time the swap ends. (The timetable for services will be worked out between those swapping.)

*Product reviews should be posted no later than two weeks from the time the swap ends. (The review timetable for services will be worked out between those swapping.)

*The review should contain a photo of the product received; your own scoop on the product; and a link back to the product, shop or person (their choosing). (The review for services may or may not include a photo, details to be worked out between those swapping.)

*Please include the Swap & Tell button or text link back to your host in your linked post.

*Etsy does not allow outside links within a product description. So if you are swapping a product from Etsy, the workaround is to post it on a blog, Facebook, Pinterest or Instagram before linking up.

NEW:  You can link an item directly from your shop.

And finally, have fun and remember, it's all about promoting and helping one another. The value of the swap is in more than the products received, but in the exposure you will receive from reviews. A swap means a review for your product too!

Basket Babies

Etsy shop, basket makeovers
Time for the basket babies to leave the nest and fly off to Etsy.

Each received adornments ranging from ruffles to stamping to tags to vintage linens.

This wood basket with a twig handle has a distressed calico ruffle and a set of nest tags.

It has been painted white and stamped with script and nest images.

These tags have calico ties with a bit of lace.

.
Wrapped in stained calico secured with a rusty pin.

Ready to fly away.

Then I made more nest tags with pink French seam binding ribbon ties.

I hand-colored the nests.

Added a lace trim.

Stamped some birds across the backs, but left most of the space for writing.

Sifted through the pile of vintage linens to find ones to go in the baskets.

I chose two crochet doilies for this basket.

One here.

 And one here.

A small berry basket painted pink with a heavily overdyed pink calico ruffle.

A set of the tags with the two crochet pieces.

 Ready to fly away.

Use as supplies or just to sit and look pretty.

Remember Pearl, Pearl, the Prairie Girl?

A set of six tags for the next basket.

PLUS one crochet doily.

PLUS a linen doily edged with crochet.

PLUS this piece of crochet.

The basket has been painted white with a calico ruffle and a fabric flower.

Ready to fly away.

Take one white and pink crochet.

Add one white, yellow and pink crochet.

Add a third ruffled crochet.

Throw in a set of those pink nest tags.

Ready to fly away.

I will be adding these and a few more of the basket babies to my Etsy shop.

BUT  I saved one basket baby to offer as a swap on Swap & Tell #4 tonight.

Be sure to come over to promote your products.

Read my review of my swap with Diana (Adirondack Girl @ Heart) here.

See y'all!
