Frisky's Nuts & Bat Lady Ribbons

Time to round up some images from The Graphics Fairy and make some torn cotton ribbons.  First I dyed some muslin in orange Rit dye, coffee, and cheap vanilla for that primitive distressed look.  Then tore the fabric into two-inch strips for the nuts and squirrels and three-inch strips for Miss Bat Lady.

The prim little pumpkin is from Brenda at The Rusty Thimble.  I love her creations!

Miss Bat Lady I have used previously as a tag for the Miss Bat Lady's Baskets here.

Karen at The Graphics Fairy has several neat squirrel images.

Frisky paired well with this lovely acorn image.

I printed the images out on transfer paper after making them slightly purple.  This was to ensure they appeared brown on the orange fabric.

I also used a printed calico for Frisky.

Remember to wash the heck out of the fabric first and then dye it or just tear it.  The more frayed, the more distressed.

And "distressed" is my first name!

I surrounded Frisky by two nuts to ensure he did not get hungry.

I think I like the orange better than the printed tan fabric,

I'll probably change my mind.

The ladies all gather down the ribbon.

I make these in three yard lengths.

You can use them as basket fillers, cut them apart for tags, or surprisingly, ribbon!

Prim Pumpkin has that goofy smile that must mean he likes being with the ribbons.

Now to tie them into neat packages and sent them off.

I thought I might get through with my Fall decor today, but never got around to it.

Maybe by the end of next week I'll get it done.

But I do promise I am working on my craft/computer/guest room.

There is a huge space (about 6' by 6') in the middle of the room.  I am so excited.  I hope you won't be disappointed in the results.

See y'all!
