Like this primitive high chair which has sat for years in the corner of the den holding stacks of books.
I had to move it for an electrician to check breakers in the electrical panel.
I like the corner bare.
So there!
But I did shop last Saturday.
A lovely wicker and wrought iron patio set.
A bit rusty and crusty.
A green toolbox - great for a fall or Christmas display.
Look at the cute tiny metal paper cutter.
I resisted keeping it as I only collect the wooden ones.
A wooden crate - lost part of its side.
Two bundles of straw - look like artichokes to me.
I bought these two for the metal baskets but left the arrangements in them to sell.
I had to buy a huge box of wooden hangers ...
To get these vintage ones and ...
Two old advertising ones.
There was only one tosser in the bunch so it turned out to be a deal.
I fell in love with this primitive green cabinet on casters.
The guy was unsure why it had not sold.
He was sure all the great hardware in the drawers was worth the price.
YES!
I had to take all the junk, but he did cut the price in half.
It has a sliding board at the top for extra work space.
I found this graniteware roaster at Riverfront Antique Mall while cruising the aisles.
It just said Fall to me.
The days are getting shorter around here.
I swim for 90 minutes each afternoon - it's getting darker earlier.
The sun is slowly moving in a different position.
Well, actually the Earth is doing all the moving.
Off to some sales and possibly an auction or two.
See y'all!

Yes, like green cabinet & wicker set! Impressed you swim 90 mins! That's a long time! I'm trying to get up the nerve to get in the pool to exercise since I can't swim.
ReplyDeleteYou can find me at salmerf@bellsouth.net! (Just read your thing at the bottom about replies...I know I'm no follow. Don't know how to fix that or I would.
DeleteI think I have to put my name in the hat for that green cabinet, too! Nice find! I like the high chair, too! You've got the coolest stuff! About the newer wooden hangers: there must be a craft in them somehow! Maybe hang a print from the pants rod? I dunno...maybe you'll figure something out.

ReplyDeleteHave a great week end.

ReplyDeleteI love the wicker patio set and the wooden hangers, I just found a bunch of too, but not quite as many. Love it when they have some advertising on them. That green cabinet is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteThere is much goodness here. Much goodness. I was just talking with another vendor about Fall getting here last night. It's time to dig out my gourds and stuff. Hope you had fun at the auctions. No sales action here, except for a 25 cent music sale at the comic shop.
ReplyDeleteThat roaster is pretty awesome, Donna! I can't wait to see what you do with it.
ReplyDeleteWe are experiencing a major heat wave here. 100+ temps the last few days which in Oregon in NOT normal. Swimming for 90 minutes sounds heavenly to me.
You know what? A baby high chair with stacks of books looks exactly like what my dining nook needs. I'm on the hunt!
