Time for tags again.
This time Little Red Riding Hood.
I always loved her spirit.
I started with shipping tags.
Aged them with a splash of red ink, a spritz of walnut ink, a light spray of red dye, and finished with daubs of brown distressing ink.
I wanted an aged leather look.
Dismantled an old junior dictionary with large print and yellowed thick pages.
Cut them into rectangles the size of the shipping tags.
Then I ran them through the crimper!

After seeing all the wonderful projects she made, I had to have one.
The crimper corrugates the paper.
The Little Red Riding Hood image is from The Graphics Fairy.
I used just her head and attached a graduated stack of the corrugated dictionary pages.
I used distressing ink on the edges of the pages.
Then I Mod Podged the girls onto the shipping tags.
Applied two coats of Mod Podge over the top of everything.
The tags turned out to be too dark for me so I white-washed the areas around her head and the book pages.
The back has a simple "Hey There Little Red Riding Hood".
White-washed the back also.
Used leather for the ties.
She looks quite happy.

ReplyDeleteThese are absolutely Adorable! I Love Creating and Collecting Tags too. And Thank You for coming for a Blog Visit and giving me some valuable dietary Cardio advice. I have been eating more Nuts, been having a strange Craving for them... perhaps my body just knew instinctively what it needed because today my Blood Sugar was in the Healthy Range for the first time since I was Hospitalized!!! I'm working more on dietary control so that I won't have to take pills or shots eventually, at least that is my Goal... and I Hope they send me to an equally progressive Cardiologist as yours?!

ReplyDeleteYour tags are always so creative Donna! I sold my crimper in a yard sale two years ago. I wasn't scrapbooking much anymore so I thought I would down size my supplies. Why I sold that I don't know. I've wished I had one a few times since. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
