Blue Striped Chairs

chair makeover, Krylon Chalky Spray paint
A project from December left in the camera.

These blue striped chairs.

Decades ago these two were used in our breakfast room.

Ended up hiding in the deep recesses of the attic.

Removed the seats and scrubbed them well.

Legs in the air on the painting frame.

A couple of coats of Krylon Chalky finish paint.

Now Chucks knows I NEVER make mistakes.

(That I would admit!)

However for some strange reason my painting elf did not put a drop cloth under the chairs,

Yes, there is paint all over part of the driveway.

Which Chucks points out every time we walk to the car.

I just do not understand how it got there.

The blue striped fabric was in my stash.

The chairs even with their makeover have not sold.

Make me an offer.

I want them to find a good home.

See y'all!

  3. Oh, I love the makeover! It's perfect...and inspirational. I'll probably wait until summer to do any painting, but the difference in your before and after chairs is good motivation.

  5. I WISH I was close enough to make you an offer. The shipping would probably be more than the chairs. Awesome job! I can't believe they are still there. I would certainly like them in my bedroom sitting area if nothing but for show. Pretty, pretty!

  9. Love the chairs...I can so relate to the hubby's remarks....my painting elf forgets to put a drop cloth down lots of times too... I am sure the chairs will go to a good home real soon. Blessings!

  10. If the chairs haven't sold yet, you might want to add a stencil to the back — either a french-theme something from The Graphics Fairy or maybe even a bird (like what's on the side table!). I'm sure you could find something that you thought would be appropriate. I like them. I'm too far away to like them!

  16. Donna, these chairs look fab. Sometimes it just never makes sense to me why things remain, when others go out the door. My husband always says it's price (to me that translates, giving it away too cheap), but when you've put your labor into it, I'll be the last to give that away with a low price.
