A Toolbox, A Racket, And Some Spindles ...

A toolbox, a racket and some spindles went into a bar.

No, wait, this is not some bad joke.

I really did not buy but three things this week.

A toolbox.

A racket.

Some spindles.

The toolbox obviously belonged at some time in the past to J. Whyte.

 I thought this randomly quirky.

You know, to write your name "Whyte" in yellow on a red toolbox!

Six spindles down the aisle, I ran across a vintage tennis racket with the racket press.

Very appropriate for Wimbledon Week.

The three looked quite lovely by my door for several days and then went off to my booth.

I am very excited - Vicky from Life on Willie Mae Lane asked me to guest post on Monday, July 8th.  Be sure to come visit.  Find Vicky here!

See y'all!

  8. Dear DONNA---I am not sure where else to post this but saw an idea I thought you might find useful--never thought to do this---how to apply silicone "sealer" (caulk) to PAPER and other material to make it WATERPROOF and more sturdy--can sew thru it!!!!--imagine the possibilities! The person (think this was a PINTREST post) just used the silicone sealer and spread a thin even layer on the paper--with a credit card or a piece of stiff cardboard----and let dry--this can take a few hours----and repeat on back---this looked easy and yet--genius! WATERPROOF PAPER! I thought--luggage tags. Garden or wreath adornments--banners---any kind of signage---endless!!!! You might have to wait til it is a bit--drier---tho for this to "cure" properly and since silicone smells like heavy vinegar. Tho not nearly as creative as you I am thinking of a few things to use this for!!!!! Love that tool box--no wonder we have too many of them--I can't resist! Comet

  9. I love ole Mr. Whyte on the red toolbox. What a perfect little look that box has. I am always drawn to those. I had a tennis racket much like the one shown when I was 11 (I think) and played against Kevin Kearny in city tennis tournament. He beat me squarely. I didn't feel too bad about it though, seeing as he was a guy and I think a year older, but I've never forgotten his name and that's all I really ever knew of him... The kid who trounced me at tennis. Those kinds of rackets always remind me of that time.
