Quickies

makeovers, Americana Decor paint, Valspar paint, Furniture pieces
I have decided to make "Quickies"
a weekly post as I finish projects lingering about the house.

These four projects took about two hours to complete.

Of course the sanding and the cleaning had been completed.

The antique spinet desk is still yielding pieces to work on.

These two corbels - one with the base still attached - needed painting.

Valspar in Bermuda Sand.

Light distressing.

The next three pieces were hauled from Horror Monster's entry closet.

Love the carvings on this piece.

A pair of old cupboard doors with the hinges and catch still in fair condition.

A back piece to a dresser, maybe?

I used Americana Decor Chalky Finish in Lace to paint the door frames.

Added hardware cloth (the wire).

Americana Decor Chalky Finish in Serene.

Lace.

A creamy white.

I dry-brushed the doors and the two furniture pieces so no extra distressing was needed.

Found a large bag of small grapevine wreaths I had made years ago.

Tied on a torn cotton ribbon in turquoise.

Wired a wreath to each door panel.

Everything received a coat or two of satin varnish.

All are now at Riverfront Antique Mall in Booth W-10.

I hope to complete more quickies for next Sunday.

See y'all!

  2. I don't know where you find the time to do everything you do, Donna. You must have the energy of a 10-year-old. I've GOT to learn from you!

  8. "Quickies" makes me think of a very old inappropriate joke. LOL Nice work. I love the way the piece with the flowers turned out. It's probably a psychological boost to get a bunch of short projects done in a short time. Keeps you from getting bogged down.
