Real Beauty For Real Money

tray table, tole tray, distressed painted tray
Most of you know I am very thrifty.

I am always looking for the big bargain.

<Maybe I am cheap.>

Chucks says I am a miser.

But when I caught a glimpse of this real beauty, I was ready to put down real money.

A tray table.

She is already perfectly distressed.

Well, maybe more than distressed since I have to seal the top to preserve the painted finish.

She has been exposed to high humidity.

She has crackled all by herself.

I have named her Amelia Rose.

Once I name a piece it is hard to sell her off to some stranger.

(Dear customers, I do not mean you!)

Do you think she will be comfortable with my primitives?

I may hang her on the wall.

Store the bottom in the attic.

Maybe place her on the living room mantel.

Okay, I have named her and planned places for her.

Amelia Rose may be staying for a little while.

Real beauty and I paid real money.

See y'all!

  1. Sweet!!! Amelia Rose. How on earth could you part with her now? Like giving away your dog. (well, not exactly). :-)

  4. Amelia Rose is just gorgeous! Great find! You know...I don't think it's that we are cheap...just that once you become a thrifter, you know what great deals you can get and it's hard to pay real money for stuff. It is for me anyway! Hope your Tuesday was great!

    Blessings, Vicky

  5. Great piece Donna and so versatile in that you can use it as just a tray; a wall hanging if you wish and a table. It is beautiful and you did not have to work your magic on it.
