Nothing too extreme.
Well, actually I am lying about that, but I tell you that story in another post.
I bought this nail bag from Susan at her Must Love Junk Etsy shop. Browse her shop here.
I had to have it to hang on the front door when I saw the name of the town was "Homeworth".
A blue Samsonite with the baggage claim ticket on it - great shape on the inside.
Two drawers - I have amassed a collection of six - must do something to them soon.
A cute stool - will be painted - don't know what.
Probably time to add an image to it too.
Two Shabby Chic pillows - is that Rachel Ashwell or Laura Ashley - I can and do get them mixed up.
I am getting to love Rachel's Prairie style though.
Hence the blue-striped canvas duck fabric and the white on white fabric.
Such a sweet roses print.
The quilted patchwork pillow had a lovely fabric back of florals also, but I forgot to turn it around.
It is wa-a-a-ay past time for me to finish up my Farragoz class.
I bought these two plaques to add patina.
(And to finish my homework!)
If you love Old World finishes, you would love the course.
What would you do with a vintage brass fire extinguisher?
Make it into a floor lamp!
Bought this at a sale that popped up on the side of the road.
Also bought a neat polo print.
You will have to just imagine the polo print because the computer ate my picture.
I swear.
I am getting faster on this Windows 7, but summer is here and I get lazy.
We start cleaning the pool this week.
I swim daily up to 100 laps.
I almost went into the green lagoon today, but germs stopped me.
See y'all!

This week for Drop It or Swap It, I have this hat - no, not to wear, to decorate with. A local artisan takes bonnets and shades from the thrift shop and transforms them with vintage buttons, beads, and millinery flowers.
If you want to swap for something of yours, be sure to link to the Drop It Or Swap It link party at Tarnished Royalty. (Go here!)
Last week I did not swap. Boo hoo.
But I did receive my last two swaps -the lovely tea towels and the seed sowing bag from Tina and Ann.
I should have taken pictures - I know.
UPDATE: I have swapped the hat for Tina's apron. Yippee! ******************************************************************************

Cool finds - love the Homeworth. I have a fireman SIL with a man cave that one of those would be perfect in. I've seen the extinguishers before, but not as a lamp - very cool.
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! That extinguisher lamp is fabulous. A great one of a kind piece... and those pillows are very sweet.
ReplyDeleteFun, fun stuff! I especially like that nail pouch. Perfect!
ReplyDeletecan't wait to see this lamp you have envisioned!
ReplyDeleteGood stuff Donna ... you really know where to find it. The extinguisher lamp is wonderful and should sell quickly. Just needs the right shade.
ReplyDeleteThanks for inspiring us to go shopping ... well, I really don't need to be inspired.
Trying to dig stuff out for a garage sale and oh my ... I think your Horror Monster came to live here and brought all his stuff.
Hugs,
Audrey Z. @ Timeless Treasures
You will swap the lamp with me, right? ;)
ReplyDeleteYou always find the best stuff! I am seriously coveting the 2 plaques you bought! They are going to look great painted and distressed. They are awesome! I love the pillows too...especially the pink rosie one. I wish I had a pool...I would use it every day I'm sure. Maybe some day! Have a blessed evening...Vicky
ReplyDeleteGreat finds, Donna--love the pillows and what a clever idea for the extinguisher! Wonder what kind of shade you'll be putting on that one?! Have a great week-end :)

I love the cushions. I saw a lamp made from a brass fire extinguisher, but it was a table lamp. Awesome
ReplyDeleteJanice
Interesting batch of cool stuff! My ex SIL had a table top lamp made from one of those copper extinguishers...I think I like the floor lamp better! Thanks for sharing at Revisionary Life Thrifty Life Thursday!
