I have not written a post about my tags lately, but after using three on the vases turned candleholders, I decided it was time.
The theme for these tags was angels and ballerinas.
I am always playing around with substrates on the shipping tags.
I have been trying out layers of chalk paint - a mixture of gesso, nonsanded grout, and craft paint.
I paint both sides at one time - laying the wet tags on a sheet of waxed paper to get texture.
I used vintage photograph images from The Graphics Fairy.
The images were printed on cream heavy cardstock - nine to a page.
Then Mod Podged on the shipping tag.
HINT: When they are mostly dry, fold them up in waxed paper and place under a stack of books.
Nice, flat tags!
A stack of angels and ballerinas ready for some ornamentation.
First stamping over the images with French script.
The backs were stamped with a damask pattern.
The ballerinas were edged with a silver paint pen.
The angels edged with bronze.
The backs of the angel tags were stamped with a cherub
Buttons were glued on and lace added to their bottoms.
The ties are vintage lace trim.
Of course ballerinas need pleated tulle.

There you have it - angels and ballerinas tags.
There will be more.
But I have promised you junkin' finds so the next posts will be all about the junk.
Meanwhile I will be creating some new tags.
See y'all!

ReplyDeleteThese tags are so awesome Donna. I love everything about them, but especially the layering and the french script. I agree with Danni. You definitely make the best tags in blogland!!
ReplyDeleteLove the tags ... you really know how to dress them up. And you have a stamp with French script .. now you are able to 'talk' French everywhere. I think the script really adds to the look. Good job.
