It is Sunday morning.
Let's have some quickies!
I was busy all Saturday working to complete projects.
Let's see a few of them.
Remember these two baskets from Friday Finds?
They both were sprayed Navajo White.
Yes, the brass basket came out much darker.
I distressed it with sandpaper.
I am loving this look and will be on the lookout for more hammered metal things.
No distressing needed to make this one pretty.
With my fake hydrangeas.
I started on these two silver items back in November.
Yes, November!
I went as far as painting them Heirloom White.
Then it was time to decorate for Christmas so they went to live in a box under the craft room table right next to Scout's bed.
He did not mind.
Some heavy sanding revealed peeks of the silver.
I like to use these for odds and ends instead of food.
The cut work trays are useful all over the house.
Again used heavy sanding to reveal the engraved design in the center.
All four items will be at Riverfront Antique Mall in Booth W-10.
Sissie of Sissie's Shabby Cottage asked me if I had any vintage flat hangers.
I did. I did.
I had a stack of them painted with the Farragoz method in a delicate pink.
She bought some of them, and I decided to stamp on the others.
Stamped "PARIS" on the front.
Stamped a Paris address on the back.
Tied a pink ribbon around the hook.
So pretty paired with an eyelet Jeanne D'Arc Living tunic I bought at sissiecakes.
Available in a set of six hangers in my Etsy shop.
Be sure to use the coupon below.
Soon the six of us who participated in Tania's Thrift It, Gift It, Facelift It Challenge will reveal our finished results.
Get your pinning fingers ready.
See what I received from Kim HERE.
So if I worked all Saturday on projects, will there be anything to share on Friday?
Oh. My. Word.
You will NOT believe what I found Friday.
I am bursting at the seams to tell.
But I won't.
See y'all!

You really do live up to your name every week...distressing everything you find! The brass pot I amazing and I love those hangers too! Can't wait to see your new treasures.
ReplyDeleteThe brass basket looks awesome! What a difference the paint and sanding made. I also love the little tray and coat hangers. When you sand these things, do you use your electric sander or a sanding block?
ReplyDeleteI adore anything painted a shabby pink. Those hangers are divine!

ReplyDeleteI love to see your comments but I cannot reply - I do not have your email address.
DeleteYou are so talented. I'm still wishing for a place to start my shop back. Of course, in this apartment there's no where to spray paint. We're not allowed to paint, grill, or put much on the walls. Ugh. Got to find a new place. Love all you did to your finds. You give me such great ideas. There are so many Goodwill stores here. I've got to hunt for your ideas. LOve,
ReplyDeleteLove the hangers and the painted baskets! You are so good at the quickies!! Now you have me excited to see what you found!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
Donna ... you always accomplish so much. I need to find a few of those "quickies" for me to do. Love how the paint and sanding changed the metal basket. The hangers are really cute. I hope I did not give all my flat wooden hangers away. I may need to dig them out and decorate them. Great items of inspiration.

I never would have thought to paint silver!! Be careful as some silver fanatics may want to strangle you!
ReplyDeleteDonna, I love this segment that you do on your blog. You give us so many easy ideas and projects that can be transformed with some paint! You already know how much I love the wooden hangers I got from you. I will do a post on them soon. They are perfect for vintage clothes and laces. Thanks for the shout out too!

ReplyDeleteYou always come up with the cutest ideas!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great bunch of quickies. Love that metal basket!
ReplyDeleteAll your quickies turned out so great! I started some quickies of my own on Friday but didn't get to finish one of them and haven't taken pictures of any of them yet! It suck being single sometimes... I have to do everything around here and it really gets in the way of the fun stuff! I mowed the grass and then thought I'll just trim up these bushes which turned into a 4 hour job! Sheesh!
ReplyDeleteTania

ReplyDeleteHi Donna, I love how the hammered iron turned out as well. You are getting really quick at getting the quickies done! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
