I managed to squeeze in four quickies this week between straightening and restocking the booths, buying junk, and painting furniture.
First a kitchen cabinet drawer.
Painted white and distressed with a hand sander.
Bought several packs of pretty paper napkins to use in projects.
Separate the top layer and Mod Podge it.
I wanted a slightly Asian design.
Stamped "birds and nests" across the bottom.
Done!
A small bench - just needed paint.
Americana Decor Chalky Finish in Serene.
Light sanding.
Waxing.
Done!
I have had these chick feeders in my window sills for the wrens to build nests.
Swiped some white paint across the fronts.
Stamped some chicks and "No. 1".
A couple of light sprays of satin varnish.
Done!
Azalee was not happy with these sewing drawers taking up space on HER sofa.
Both were distressed white when I bought them.
Both were useful to hold mail.
Both are going to the booth.
But first I had to slap some paint on the insides of the two.
I have a bunch of projects to finish this coming week.
And yes, I went junkin' this weekend.
Just a tad.
More quickies next week.

Woo hoo! I have one of the things above and you just showed me how to give it some oomph! I have a vintage chicken feeder that looks plain and boring and I was wondering what to do with it to make it look a little more interesting. The hard part will be the stamp...LOL
ReplyDeleteI love your quickies! Lots of good ideas here. Also, thanks for the tip about Kim's bracelets....just ordered one!
ReplyDeleteLove all these quick and easy projects...Love the chicken feeders and kitchen drawer...so cute!
ReplyDeleteLove all of these ideas, especially the chick feeders!!!
ReplyDeleteLove all of these ideas, especially the chick feeders!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the drawer with the bird paper - so cute!
ReplyDeleteI have a bunch of projects planned for when we get home from the lake. I'm itching to get started.
Thanks for the shout out on the bracelets - AnnMarie just ordered one!
So pretty. You have such a great vision to re love the treasures you find. I have to join in on loving the chicken feeders too. Great job on all of these.
ReplyDeleteHave a great new week ahead.
Kris
Great job with your quick projects. The bracelets are so cute!!
ReplyDeleteHi Donna,
ReplyDeleteYou've been a busy girl! Love the old drawer and the chicken feeders. All your quickie projects are great.
hugs

Donna ... you are so good at doing "quickies" !!! I would buy the chicken feeders. What you did with the drawer is so interesting. A shelf could be added in the middle for more display room ... but that would disqualify is as a 'quickie'.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your return to junk shopping.

Busy bee as always! I have two drawers just like that. They are backed with vintage wallpaper. Still trying to decide what to do with them...

your chicken feeders rock!!
ReplyDeleteOh to heck with it, everything you do is awesome. Such talent and imagination. Where did you find those old chicken feeders? love those as we have chickens and what characters our girls are.
ReplyDeleteAll we have to say to our dog is "lets go see the girls" and he goes crazy wanting out to see his girls. He takes good care of them. If our cat even looks like he's going to go near them (he doesn't) dog is right on him, puts his paw on cat.
You find the most interesting things to do most interesting things to. I want a drawer to make little shadow box with. Those napkins you used are adorable as I'm bird lover also. Colors on napkins would be great in our bedroom so I could put birds I've accumulated in drawer. Hubs has banished any more bird "stuff" in living room, (old sour puss)lol. Love your blog. You show so many awesome things for us to do. Happy Sunday and week.
I love seeing creativity at work. Never would have thought of using those pretty bird napkins in that way!
ReplyDeleteOh dear! The wrens are homeless! All for the greater good, I guess. Poor Azalee! Having to share her space with so much junk. She's probably glad about all the de-stashing.
ReplyDeleteFour very different, yet very quick projects. You're just knocking them out now. But they all have a unique look and a personal touch. You ought to consider shooting short videos of these projects and posting them. Seriously.
Everything looks great! I love the drawer with the napkins. So pretty! They make the prettiest napkins these days. I actually just came from Kim's blog and am planning to get with her to order one for Miranda for Christmas in bronze. :)
ReplyDeleteQuick and easy projects are always the best! Love your transformations.
