There're No Pictures Like Snow Pictures

It's the first month of the year.

Snow was promised and did not come near here.

So I spent the time dragging out all my snow paintings to remind me what snow is.

My all-time favorite.

Signed by Ralph Booth - primitive - acrylic on board.

I found it covered in hay in an old barn years ago.

An oil painting of a barn in snow.

This one is not a painting, but a calendar page found in a shed.

I love the distressed-ness of it.

A colorful watercolor.

I know you are getting the idea here.

I love barns in snow!

Another oil painting.

Yes, there is a barn behind the house.

Acrylic on board.

More like a shed behind the house than a barn.

I especially love the frame.

The red barn is front and center on this acrylic on canvas.

Except for the first one, they are NOT signed.

Folks, if you take the time to create something, sign it, please!

My den mantel.

The other paintings scattered around the house.

I always place the favorite right across from the sofa so I can see it every night.

A little concrete polar bear smiles at the world.

He is a happy fellow.

I have been away with the creeping crud that seems to be infecting everyone I know.

Hope your new year has begun with health and wealth.

If not, at least there is junk.

See y'all!

  2. Haha...yes there is always junk & I have plenty of it! Like your pictures! Sounds like you are a little disappointed you didn't get any of the white stuff! We got it here in AL. Just a little...didn't fully cover the ground, but it's better than nothing. I've been missing you! We've all had the crud here.

  3. So sorry to hear that you have been under the weather, Donna. Hope you are soon up and about -- especially to the sales you might be missing!

  4. Love your collection of winter/snow pictures. I love your mantel, something I wish I had in my home. Glad you are finally feeling better. That crud was awful and stayed on way too long. Hugs!

  5. Dear Donna ... so good to "see" you.
Sorry you have had the "CRUD"...
Love your pictures ... makes a beautiful mantel. I have one special one that I display in the winter, but will be looking for more. I love old barns and fences ... with snow is great to display this time of the year because we seldom get snow. I still have my lighted, snow-covered trees out. I have a small collection of Texas blue bonnets with fences. If there is a barn, that is a plus. Maybe that is an idea for my Spring mantel.
    Hugs, Audrey Z.

  7. Good Morning Donna you have a lot of cool winter scenes. That is the way I like to view winter is in a picture lol! Unfortunately still seeing lots of that outside my windows! Have a great new week ahead.

  8. We were promised snow, too — an ACCUMULATION of snow. Never came. I told Katie that if we got snow, I was going to go outside and make snow angels and send the photo to my mom. She laughed! I would have!!! Yep!

I was just thinking about you and your creeping crud. It sounds like you are feeling better, having crawled out and taken a few pictures. I'm glad. There no fun in being sick! Now, you can go thrifting and junking, and delight us with your purchases and finds!

  9. I would be happy to let you have the snow we got here in Oregon! I am so sick of it. I would rather just view it in paintings like yours!

  12. I love all your snow pictures! We have more than enough snow here, wish I could send some your way! Right now we have about a foot and now we are bracing for a night of freezing rain. Ick!
