She has been looking for vintage aluminum chairs to take to the lake.
We found three.
She liked two!
Not old signs but funny signs.
The middle one:
WE BUY JUNK
&
SELL ANTIQUES
A box of handmade doll clothes and a silver what's-it.
A concrete cherub from the forties with many layers of paint.
In fact the paint may be holding him together.
Just kidding - he's a heavyweight!
Two single family homes.
Two aluminum pitchers.
We ate lunch at Juniper in Ridge Spring before shopping.
Bought the drop leaf kitchen table in good condition but needing a paint job.
The toolbox opens on the front.
A carom board from the thirties - the lady who sold it to me received it for Christmas when she was young.
Lovely graphics on both sides of the board.
The front folds down on the toolbox.
Willie loves to sit in the front window and watch me unload.
I need to train him to help!
See y'all!

Nice haul again !! Ok , you bought three chair's and mom liked two....sound's like my 83 yr old mom. I'm still in the garden , so I'd like the cherub and the white single family birdhouse since you sold my turquoise one. Ahhhhhh throw in the silver what's it and the carom board. Loved the pic of Willie:)) Will have your mom in my thought's and prayer's this week. Take care,TT
ReplyDeleteWishing a speedy recovery for your mom's back surgery! You are so lucky your mom likes vintage shopping, too! Did you pick this up from her?
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to spend a day before being laid up! What fun treasures you found too. Love the signs!
ReplyDeleteMy dogs love watching me unload too! I used to think it was really cute to see how curious they were about what I bought until one of my German Shepherd's peed on an old plant stand!

Looks like some great finds Donna! Are there any really tiny doll clothes in that pile... like barbie size or a little bigger? I'm always looking for tiny clothes for my little bears I make.

Wonderful finds, I love the table! Hope your Mom's back surgery goes well and she has a speedy recovery!

Love those signs! They are perfect! Especially the middle one. I'd have to plant some pretty pink geraniums in those two aluminum pitchers.Love the concrete cherub. How fun to go junkin with your Mom. I wish her a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteGreat finds, as always, Donna. The silver what's it looks like a soap "sudser" to me. Put in a small piece of bar soap and swish it quickly through hot water to make a good suds for hand washing clothes or dishes or whatever. But I bet you already knew that! Linda @Wetcreek Blog
ReplyDeleteI didn't forget your sweet mom, but back surgery is always a touchy subject with me. A good friend ( young guy) had it and is doing great. My 85 year old mom had it and still has severe back pain. Mixed results for that surgery. Strength and success for your mom. Linda@Wetcreek Blog
DeleteI hope your mom is feeling better now :)
ReplyDeleteAnother great haul! Good luck to your mom with her surgery.

ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a great time with your mom. My mom had back surgery last month, so I know how that goes....I hope she does well. More great finds and yes, train Willie to help you! Keep us posted on your mom!
ReplyDeleteDonna you find the best stuff and how fun to go junkin with your Mom! I love all your finds but the vintage doll clothes bring back special memories of my Mom making all of my doll's clothes. I sure wish I still had them.

Dearest Miss Donna;
ReplyDeleteI am Praying for All of You. Please tell your Mama to Trust in the Lord, and to cast aside all of her Worries unto him.
I Love the funny signs, Especially the one about "Buying Junk & Selling Antiques" (Wait till I tell my Husband that one!!!) LOL!!!!
I am in Love with the Cherub!!!! The Soap Sudser looks so old. The two Pitchers are Wonderful!!!
I have two of the vintage aluminum chairs, on the left.....They are getting harder to find!!!
I have Missed You, and I am so glad that you are Back!!!
You All are in my Thoughts and Prayers.
Love all the finds you got with your mom. My mom loves going on the hunt with me, too. As soon as she is more steady on her feet she will go out junking with me. She had a broken hip end of February and still gets a little unsure of herself. Sending up prayers for your mom this week.
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! I had a massive 2 day junkin' trip on US 40 this weekend. Best haul in awhile! :)
ReplyDeleteThe aluminum pitchers remind of Girl Scout camp, oh, so long ago. Lovely graphics on the Carom board. Nice haul!
