It was just a lonely little gold wire mesh shelf.
Covered in dust and who-knows-what kind of grime.
After a thorough cleaning, he did not look much better.
I thought of white.
Of black.
Of turquoise.
Of red.
I thought of PINK! Yes, Rust-Oleum Sweet Pea Pink.
Pink is a manly color this time of year in the South.
Pale pink shirts.
Pink seersucker slacks.
Hot pink ties.
Not all together, mind you.
Perfect in pink.
Then while at Habitat picking up some molding I spied with my little treasure eye ... (I started to say "with my little pink eye", but that would be tragic!)
I spied a PINK PANTHER!
Yes, I did!
It is one of those old TV lamps. Back in the 1950's and early 60's, it was thought the glare from the screen would damage your eyes so a dim lamp was placed on top of the huge cabinet of the TV.
This one is a pink panther climbing an arbor over a well. I guess you could put loose change in there.
The cord has been removed.
To complete the vignette of my two pink fellows, I added a girly pink hat and a small pink Amore tin.
I found another pink panther lamp on eBay complete with its socket, cord, bulb and shade.
The photos are not mine, but the seller's.
Too bad, folks, it has sold. (Not to me!)

When there is pink around, love is in the air.
I cannot believe I wrote the whole post and did not say "pretty in pink"! Oh, no, I said it! Sorry.
See y'all!
Ahahaha! You said it Donna! You know I'm a pink girl so I absolutely love this. For me pink is fabulous any time of the year. Love that sweet pea pink!!
ReplyDeleteI don't remember those lamps, but it's very cool. Good eye - and I do mean your "pink eye"... Pink junking eye, that is. It's not easy figuring out what to do with those gold gems. Pink was perfect!
