Friday Finds

thrift shops, vintage finds
During the week I kept the shopping to a minimum.

I lucked up on  some beautiful design books.

Two by Chris Casson Madden and Beach House Style by Coastal Living.

Another bird cage.

Advertising wooden hangers.

A whole stack of tiny stainless cups with chemicals labels on them.

Some iced tea spoons and enamelware plates.

Six vintage vent covers.

A bucket of eighty horse shoes.

Delivered right to my door by my favorite rust hauler.

If he is in the neighborhood, he stops by to see if I am interested in anything in his truck.

How great is that !?!

Two metal planters just looking for a makeover.

This is hand-thrown new pottery in a lovely splatter pattern.

Unfortunately I dropped the bowl on the right and cracked it.

A large picnic basket with a large red-checked tablecloth.

Imagine the pottery above on the cloth with berries in the bowls.

I plan to stay home and work on projects instead of shopping.

Of course I have not read the ads yet so the plan may fail.

See y'all!

My Etsy shop is on vacation so I can clean up a bit and clear out items lingering too long.

  4. Great finds! Those books remind me that I need to find some great inspirational books like that for the end of this long winter. It's always so much fun looking through them, getting ideas, etc. Enjoyed your post today. Love that bucket of horseshoes!

  5. I am wondering what on earth you're going to do with the vent covers. They are quite different from what you usually bring home. then I thought of something.... Make a frame of wood, then put four of them on all sides, standing up length-wise. If a candle is added inside, I think it would give off some cool shadows! Can't wait to see what you do!

  6. Deliveries? How awesome is that? I've always wanted to make a horseshoe table, but I would need some serious welding skill.

  14. Love your finds Donna. The picnic basket looks especially well made and in great condition. A bucket full of horseshoes will bring lots of good luck. Vent covers are interesting ... can't wait to see what you do with them.

  18. I always like finding the advertising hangers.

I hit an estate sale this weekend but all I got was yarn. Pickings are still slim this time of year.

  19. I found nothing at the barn sale I went to. Even Magoo was bummed.
    Any word on Miss P?
