First up the brown step stool from last week.
It is a heavy little fellow.
Previously brown.
Now Krylon Blue Ocean Breeze.
A bright spot in a dreary day.
What will I do with this DVD organizer?
First paint it FolkArt Indian Ocean Turquoise (I may have made that name up - I can't remember).
Then scan some vintage postcards into the computer and print them out.
Mod Podge them all around the sides.
Here it is ready to work.
Another pic.
And yet another pic.
Leading to the purpose -
I plan to organize my vintage postcards in my booth.
I plan to divide them by category - Christmas, Easter, Birthday, and so on.
I plan to downsize my collection by 1000.
Yes, that is one thousand.
I plan not to throw a fit when I see the postcards back to their normal place - spread out on the floor.
If you want some, I have them listed in my Etsy shop.
See y'all!

Wow, I love the postcard organizer. I saw that idea on an old mail organizer using vintage seed packets. So cute! I want to try it but I don't have the tools...I'll figure something out!
ReplyDeleteOh, now that CD case turned postcard organizer is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea with the old CD case. I see them all the time at the thrift store. Now I have a reason to buy one.
ReplyDeleteOh WOW Donna ... what a smart idea. Love the postcards on the sides. Someone will want to buy it.
ReplyDeleteSome cute quickies. Love the cd holder and the postcards on the edge are wonderful and a great way to organize the post cards!!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
What a great use for the DVD organizer! Genius!!!
ReplyDeleteI think everyone had a dvd organizer at one time or another and most got thrown out. What a great upcycle project this would have been for those of us who didn't know what to do with them! Great thinking, Donna!
ReplyDeleteWow! What a fantastic way to repurpose the dvd organizer! I love it!

Hi Donna,
ReplyDeleteHope you are not getting the flooding. I love the dvd re love into the card holder. So sweet and cute. Have a great week.
Kris
Donna, that was a genius idea for the postcards!
ReplyDeleteStay high and dry!
xo, T.
I was wondering what you would do with the CD storage! Such a great idea!
ReplyDeleteThe CD Holder turned out really pretty! And looks wonderful holding all the postcards! That is quite a collection! Hope you are safe and dry during this storm! We had a little lull last night, but the rain is in full swing again! Take care! Rhonda
ReplyDeleteLove the step stool and the DVD organizer turned post card organizer is so neat! Love it!! Wow, you have a lot of postcards! I am going to have to visit your Etsy shop!!
ReplyDeleteKimberley
What a great repurpose for the DVD organizer. Love the colour! It's so pretty now!
ReplyDeleteOkay, be honest now. Will getting rid of 1000 postcards really make that much of a dent in your collection? I say this as someone with a HUGE comic book collection. 1000 would only be the beginning of a downsize for me. I might not even notice it.
ReplyDeleteI do love the idea of using the DVD rack. I'll be checking back to see how well the last step of your plan goes. Maybe if you start with the postcards on the floor, they'll end up in the rack, because that's obviously not where they are supposed to be and customers can't seem to leave things where they really go.
Ooops, I seem to be only one without CD organizer/rack. We never had that many CD's. Wish I did have one, figure out what else to use it for even if I didn't have idea right then.
ReplyDeleteYour vignette with stool is so cute and how your re-purposed cd rack for post card holder, awesome girl. Decoupaging old postcards on rack is genious and very smart looking idea. The color is very eye catching also. Hope you sell all those post cards is you really mean it. Have great week.
I love that idea for the postcards!
ReplyDeleteLove those colors and how you worked with the post cards!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Donna... I think that is the mother of all repurposing projects! I always look at those and wonder "what could I do with that, there must be another purpose" but nothing ever came to me! That will work great in your booth!
ReplyDeleteTania
Loving the turquoise/aqua colors you used. Oh, postcards! I sell quite a bit of them! I just take groupings of 10-20 and tuck them in bowls, etc around my booth. I did have them displayed on these holder I made, but they kept making their way back into the bowls. So, I rolled with it. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so creative - would you consider linking up to my new thrifting link-up at http://thriftasaurus.blogspot.com/? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love a good quickie project! Pretty color and such a clever way to display your postcards.
ReplyDeleteLove that container and vintage postcards. That is absolutely adorable! I always buy postcards when I see them...I just can't resist snooping through someone else's private thoughts...LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to transform the DVD holder! It's raining here as well and my next painting project is delayed!
ReplyDeleteI love the transformation of the DVD holder into a card display...I need one!!!
ReplyDeleteIt finally stopped raining here , and gave me time to go out in the garden and start planting my tulip bulbs!!!
