It was sweet, but I had no idea why there would be an angel on an old ballot box.
Wouldn't everyone vote for an angel?
Unfortunately I voted to remove the angel and the "I heart angels" from the ballot box.
The wood was old and had a nice patina, but I voted for paint.
I voted for grey! Yes, in this case I think it should be spelled with an "e".
I painted it with Relic and rubbed it with Mission Oak stain.
Added an over-dyed, torn, calico ribbon.
Added a Distressed Donna tag.
I think the ballot box is a winner.
Hands down!
I have been away for several days organizing things.
I am back.
Without warning.
See y'all!

Party Junk #263
I love the ballot box. So nice to see you back. You were missed. Hugs, Dianne
ReplyDeleteGrey looks really nice with the purple ribbon! Good choice!
ReplyDeleteYour grey ballot box looks great! I love that you put a ribbon through the top to dress it up a snazz. I vote it as a totally successful makeover!
ReplyDeleteYou turned an '80's design into a treasure!
ReplyDeleteI love the texture you created on your ballot box! It looks like decoupage fabric to me. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love your tags. I stamp all of my tags too, but I have about 15 different "vintage style" designs. I haven't found one I want to stick with yet.
ReplyDeleteVery cool box. What are you using it for?
ReplyDeleteYou get my vote! Love the grey. It's amazing what paint can do.
ReplyDeleteIt looks amazing! You know how much I love grey!
ReplyDeleteGreat makeover for the ballet box and I love the 'ribbon' on it!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
Sweet new look on that box, and loving the touch the ribbon brings. :)
ReplyDeleteGrey has my vote, too!
ReplyDeleteA definite winner! Love the grey, and that ribbon is a nice finishing touch.
ReplyDeleteMy vote is for winner, now I'll just pass my slip so it can be entered into the box :)
ReplyDeleteYou get my vote too ... great color and love how the textures of the wood on the front show up. Cute way to add a bow. Glad you are back. ... missed you.
ReplyDeleteAudrey Z.
Donna what a lovely upcycle and great color! Blessings, Cecilia
ReplyDeleteLove this box and the color is perfection! What a cool find. I have been having Internet issues for a few days and am so behind on everything. Trying to catch up tonight. Have a great rest of the week!
ReplyDeleteI would of voted for grey too. Maybe a church had the voters box and they voting on names for an angel? You sure did it justice, but then you always do. I stopped by last week to join the party and seen you aren't anymore. I also tried to "comment" and it wouldn't let me, today I could? Have a great night!
