I sent her a bobbin of French gimp.
She sent me a tiny piece of heaven.
Gigi and I met long ago over a passion for the type of patina you find in old world buildings in far off places.
Those with layers and layers of paint and plaster built through the centuries.
Gigi has perfected the art of creating this kind of patina on many items.
The plaster angel wing is just one of those.
I was so excited when the package arrived.
I have taken the wing all over the house.
This is my corps of wingless angels.
It may reside here.
It catches the light from the front window.
The angel wing looks quite lovely with lace and a chippy white fence paling.
It rested here for several days.
The angel wing has found a spot with a group of rosaries.
How fitting.
My little piece of heaven.
You must go over and see Gigi's art pieces for yourself. She also sells them in her Etsy shop found at Old World Patina.
The other angel wing is available here with its sweet verse attached.
"We are each of us angels with only one wing, and we can only fly by embracing one another"
Some of her present projects include:
Applying patina to bottles
Trinket boxes
(Available in her Etsy shop)
This is the beautiful patina Gigi achieves on her pieces.
My review rates Gigi and her shop as excellent. The angel wing is plaster and was wrapped with care to ensure it arrived safely. The package was shipped promptly. The prices are very reasonable for the beautiful items she creates.
Gigi also has a Saturday's Studio Glimpse link party to show your work space and the projects you are working on. It is fun to see the unfinished parts of projects.

Oh my goodness...where and what and how...those angels are AMAZING! I love the wing, too...but as soon as you spill about the angels, I'm going to prowl. I want my own corps!
ReplyDeleteI will join the camp of those that admire it sitting with the rosaries. Beautiful.
