Chalkboard Kitties

Three cute chalkboard kitties await Halloween with their orange ribbons.

I have discovered something to change any color paint into a chalkboard.

This is not an advertisement.  Regular readers know I do not advertise or do sponsored blogs.

I just wanted to share.

Three glossy black cats found in the bottom of a box of stuff bought years ago at an auction.

Please do not judge - I am cleaning out!

They were once all the rage sitting on cupboards and window sills, but now are thrown to the curb.

Could I make them useful again?

They could be chalkboards for some kid to decorate for Halloween, but did I really want to use expensive black chalkboard paint on them?

No, they were not that cute.

At the great palace of all crafters, Hobby Lobby, I found a product I had previously overlooked.  I was looking for glazing medium and found - wait for it -

CLEAR CHALKBOARD COATING BY DECOART!

It claims to make any painted surface a chalkboard.  I tried it out on the kitties and it worked.

So the kitties were saved by becoming chalkboards.

I am going crazy with this stuff - is there anything that cannot be a chalkboard?

Can pets wear chalkboard tags?

Can husbands be branded by chalkboard labels?

We will see.

See y'all!

  2. They invent chalkboard stuff as the real chalkboard "bites the dust." I bet teachers would like their old black (or green) chalkboards back. I loved mine all 37 years! Linda@Wetcreek Blog

  10. Haha, not judging. Just went through my grandparents house and was amazed at what I found. I do wonder if there are some dogs out there. Not much of a cat person but these are cute.
