Beach Signs

Painted signs, stencils, beach theme
Yes, even more signs.

Signs for beach memories or a beach house.

Using up a random pile of wood.

Using up small jars of OOPS paint.

(I will have to remember to have this one replenished!)

A delightful silvery sage green.

Not your ordinary beach scene color.

Painted an abstract of sky, surf, and sand.

Added umbrellas leaning with the wind.

Each board was a different size.

Each beach scene is unique.

Used beachy stencils from Homestead.

Homestead Stencil Company HERE.

"May you always have a shell in your pocket & sand between your toes"

"Beach life is the best life"

"Life's better at the beach"

Signs will be available at the Magnolia Ridge Antiques and Art Gathering this Saturday.

$15 each.

See y'all!

End Table Relics

Americana Decor paint, Pennsylvania House end tables, furniture makeover, chalk paint
Two end tables treated to a makeover using Americana Decor Chalky Paint in Relic.

Relic is a beautiful blue/gray color.

Both needed a heavy sanding because of numerous stains and gouges.

Plus it was factory distressed with fake marks.

This one had its base.

The one of top had lost its base, but it really did not matter.

The end tables are Pennsylvania House - good wood and construction.

The tables were made to sit in the middle of a room with finished backs.

Before sanding and applying satin varnish.

And the after.

Relic changes with the application of different waxes or varnishes.

The back.

The sides have handles which cannot be removed because of the partitions on the inside.

So I painted the handles and the door hinges.

I sanded to have peeks of the brass showing.

The inside of each was cleaned and waxed.

I sprayed the knobs gray.

The knobs had been replaced at some time and did not match.

Perfect for magazine storage.

Since they are two different heights, I did not price them as a pair.

Available in Booth C-23 at Riverfront Antique Mall, North Augusta, South Carolina.

I am happy to say I am almost finished getting ready for the farm sale.

Now fingers crossed there is NO rain!

See y'all!

I Shot An Arrow ...

dictionary stand makeover, Krylon, Rust-Oleum gray paint, stencil
I shot an arrow into the air.

Where it landed, I simply do not have the energy to care.

As to what it hit, I do not have the time to spare!

I give a huge standing O to all of you who blithely travel from farm sales to antique fairs hauling your merchandise with you.

I am in a dither about the Magnolia Ridge Antiques & Arts Gathering.

Every time I think I am ready, I think of a gazillion things I need to do.

Believe me when I say, having a booth space is many, many times easier.

Back to today's post which is the makeover of the globe and dictionary stand from Friday Finds.

It was already quite sturdy and mostly clean.

Yes, you did spy my handy dandy grill brush - the all-purpose furniture cleaner.

I had two partial cans of Krylon matte gray I thought would be perfect.

I always paint the bottom of a piece first.

I was loving this color.

Flipped the stand over to paint the tops of the shelves.

Guess what?

I had put an empty can in the cabinet!?!

Many, many choice words later.

And those words were very colorful.

I found a can of Rust-Oleum Satin Granite to finish the piece off.

A perfect match.

I did have to lightly spray over the parts I had finished.

BUT I did not have to put on clothes to travel out to Hobby Lobby!

Since reference books and globes were once stored here, arrows seemed to be the perfect stencil to use.

I used a bright white craft paint.

The stencil fit perfectly.

Available in Booth W-10, Riverfront Antique Mall.

I know I am being a bit selfish by not answering your comments like I usually do, but I am reading both your comments and your blog posts. I promise to back to normal after May 21.

<Well, as normal as I can possibly be.>

See y'all!

Quickies - BINGO!

painting bingo signs, bingo stencil
More signs!

BINGO!

The cupboard door from Friday Finds READ HERE inspired a group of BINGO signs.

The door needed a good scrubbing and it was good to go.

The BINGO stencil was purchased from Old Sign Stencils designed by Donna of Funky Junk Interiors.

Cream, black and red craft paint was used to stencil.

This is officially the worst photo ever!

This sign can be found in Booth W-10.

It prompted me to drag out some spare boards to create two more.

The most time involved is waiting for paint to dry.

These two are going to Magnolia Ridge Antiques and Art Gathering on May 21.

See y'all!
