What could be more pleasing to the eye than vintage lace, crochet, and zinc-lidded canning jars?
The old needles are held together with a large rusty safety pin with pieces of some forgotten crochet project.
I crammed the jar full with the odds and ends of both lace and crochet.
They are too small for a big project, but just right to add a bit of whimsy to a piece.
What can be better than one jar?
I had enough bits to fill two jars!
Now they are residing in the white bookcase hiding behind the door.
See the bookcase here.
I keep going into the room and peeking at these sweet twins.
See y'all!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who saves little tidbits! I just can't bear to throw things away if there might be a use for them on something small. Your lace filled twins are very pretty...:)

They look so pretty. I can think of a few things to use a little on........ Rhonda
ReplyDeleteOh Donna, without a doubt, you will soon find lots of uses for those small pieces ... tags, maybe. You are so creative and I am sure we will be seeing them soon dressing up and making something pretty. In the meantime, they look pretty cute in those jars.

I'm with Audrey! Those would look cool on some tags!! (Just tryin to get you to make more tags!)
ReplyDeleteWHY are they on the hidden bookshelf - get them out where people can see them - they're SO pretty Donna - I agree with the tags !!!

ReplyDeleteI have a huge box of vintage lace and doilies from my Mom. I also have a box of various sizes of vintage blue canning jars with the zinc lids, again from my Mom. I never thought to put these 2 together. How charming. I can't wait to start putting them together. Thank you for a great idea!
ReplyDeleteHow pretty, the doilies, lace, etc. look so elegant in those jars.
ReplyDeleteThanks your recent visit to my Big Bed, Little Bed post.
Have a great weekend,
Gina
Love your lace filled jars. I have dozens of jars full of lace, doilies, ribbons and buttons in my studio. They range from 2 gallon size right down to half pints. Having everything out where I can see it stokes my creativity. Two thumbs up!
