Outside looks like this - blue and orange.
Finally a cold snap.
Finally feels like fall.
Finally finished this little fellow.
1950's era small stool.
Very well built - not a wiggle in him.
Sanded .
Cleaned.
Painted with my "happy" blue oops paint.
The same as Miss Citron's drawers.

Pull out my giant feather stencil.
Centered the middle one and taped off the rest.
Couple of coats of white.
Tip for the lazy: Don't clean the paint off your stencil each time?
Cover the dried paint with blue tape.
Rub hard.
Peel off.
Most of the time the old paint comes off too!
Heavily sanded with a sanding block.
Three coats of a satin spray varnish.
Perfect for a pumpkin display.
This fine feathered fellow finished for fall.
See y'all!

Amaze Me Monday #187
You have done a very good job. The design of feather looks beautiful in the chair.
ReplyDeleteLooks nice Donna! Do you find that adding stenciling helps sell an item rather than leaving plain? Just wondering...
ReplyDeletenow that was fun. That blue is happy. A happy color that would fit in just about anywhere. I enjoyed watching the process too.
ReplyDeleteWow the difference! Blue and orange is fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteGreat job. Love the blue.

Love the way it turned out---color combo, distressing, feather---perfect!
ReplyDeleteAdding the feather just topped-it-off to make the 50's sturdy boring table a eye catcher.
ReplyDeleteYou're talking about Miss Citron's drawers?!! I don't know whether she'll blush or clutch her pearls!
ReplyDeleteLike this idea! Cute look!
ReplyDeleteVery sweet! You have such a knack for distressing.....hmmmm, funny that's your name!
ReplyDelete"Giant feather stencil" -ohhhhh!
ReplyDeleteLove the feather stencil and, of course, the blue colour!
ReplyDeleteThat feather stencil is wonderful. I've seen it before but I don't think I completely appreciated it.
