I am distressed with the heat ...
and the bench has been distressed.
This is the story.
I bought a white bench.
I planned to paint it, but too hot.
I sanded it.
A pretty gray revealed itself.
The bench reached and then exceeded my expectations.
A short, white bench - distressed.
End of story.
I warned you it was a short story.
See y'all!

Short, sweet, and to the point! Love the bench...don't love the heat! I have a question for my distressed friend....what is the best way to age fabric to give it a vintage feel? Will tea staining work and if so, what's the best way to do it? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love the bench, not the heat! :-) I hope you are keeping cool!!
ReplyDeleteThe bench looks great! All's well that ends well and as long as you can "keep your cool" it will end well. :)

It must be so hard to get anything done in that heat, let alone painting! This was a great out for your and it looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI love short storie's with great ending's, an adorable bench !! It's cooled down in Ohio, I can't complain . Hop in the pool and stay cool :))Have a good one, TT
ReplyDeleteExcellent outcome.
ReplyDeleteBut you didn't tell us if it's going to be at Riverfront Antique Mall or not! How can I sleep not knowing its ultimate fate? A cliffhanger!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's way too hot to do much outside. I love the distressed look you achieved! Never mess with perfection!
ReplyDeleteCute bench and I love that it turned out to be an easy makeover. Too hot here also and I want to paint some shelves but I think I'll melt if I'm outside that long!

Hi Donna,
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you managed to get it finished with this awful heat. It's so hot here that it feels like your brain is melting.
Can't resist little benches.
hugs

What a great short story. The bench is going to live happily ever after.
