Nighty-Night Stand - The Fraternal Twin

distressed painting, night stand, Americana Decor Chalky Finish Paint
I found and purchased the fraternal twin of the Nighty-Night Stand from last week.

Not quite the same but if you are like me and do not like matchy-match furniture, it would be the perfect mate.

Similar curves and carved design.

Not the same manufacturer.

And no secret compartment.

However it did have its tag.

I do love how the truth was stretched - "all of my exposed parts are made of genuine wood".

But trust me, the unseen parts are particle wood.

It was in pretty good shape, but I wanted it to match the other night stand.

Heavy sanding.

Americana Decor Chalky Finish in Relic.

After buffing on the top and before buffing on the bottom.

Two coats of Americana Decor Ultra Matte Varnish.

I tried to match the distressing I did on the other piece.

I kept the brass knobs and pull - they were in great shape.

It has a friendly grin like the other.

The fraternal twin.

The first-born twin.

The variation in the color is due to the difference in the time of day the photo was taken.

This one is currently on layaway.

Maybe the buyer will see its twin and purchase it too.

Fingers crossed!

I love a good family reunion.

See y'all!

  7. Donna ... I had to look back twice to be sure they were not identical. Close enough to be used together. Love your paint and distressing job on both. Really neat finds.
